Art of Fighting: 20th Anniversary

Description

AOF has turned 20 and all of the 2 percent of the world knows that now! I did this picture because despite the game's clunky controls and uninspired character designs, the game itself was pretty darn innovative for its time. And if people actually did more than just pass by it and call it a Street Fighter knock off, they would realize the layers of strategy and technique that go into this game. This basically shows part of the first cast riding at high speeds. I wonder what they would be saying right now? Either way, enjoy! This is gonna probably be the last fan art (besides the occasional comic) for a while ecuase I wanna get back to uploading original stuff.

The games play like dogshit thanks to the...less than stellar controls but its hard to hate a series when it innovated the fighting genre. Plus AOF had lots of charm, good OST and great character designs(though i would argue that the good ones migrated to Kof while the "literally who" ones have been forgotten lmao but thats just me being needlessly harsh to them) and its one of the reason why we have Kof in the first place. Overall i think if AOF would've lasted long enough to get a "Real Bout" style series like Fatal Fury then it would have been easier to stomach as a fighting game series but eh, still a valuable asset for its innovations and an important part of SNK's history.
