A Night with Kazuhiko by timberking A Night with Kazuhiko by timberking
This is an idea I had after I played Street Fighter III Online Edition with SirGorgy. If you don't get it, it's Capcom USA and Europe's CEO Abe Kazuhiko having a chat with Trish from Devil May Cry, Sheva Olomar from Resident Evil and Elena from Street Fighter while Roll (from Megaman) sits in a corner alone. This represents Capcom's new game plan (no pun intended) for their current franchises.
This is only meant to poke fun at Capcom not to take too seriously.

It's even funnier since you left Roll out of the copyright mention!

She's getting shunned on both levels!

Funny pic you've got here.  I was under the assumption that the reason Capcom isn't really pushing the Mega Man franchise like they used to is because Keiji Inafune no longer works for them.

At least Roll can take solace in kicking more ass than all three of them and her big bros put together in the fighting crossovers.

i suppouse megaman has fallen out of favor with capcom as of late. but i suppouse it the fans fault, they arent buying it, it doesent interest them, and that earthquake. although i still like megaman fate better than dmc's, because dispite popular belief over sexualiation makes sales go down. but im just ranting jibberish.

nice pic, very funny , i hope megaman gets a reboot.

True, maybe Capcom should not have cut the third season of the relatively successful Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon short and let the Megaman X cartoon project continue and they might not of had to rely on thirty-one flavors of Street Fighter II to make their early to mid 90s sales numbers. Honestly, neither Megaman nor Megaman X match the fame and fortune of Ryu's franchise. XD

People buy RE, DMC and SF, while they prefer to just download the Megaman games. True, MM9 & 10 sold very good, yet all other of the newer games sold terribly (especially the ones for NDS, which is the easiest to hack, only the Pokemon games and Kingdom Hearts games are downloaded more often than Megaman games).

If you enjoy doing charity and working for free that's fine, but you can't blame people for wanting to make money when they run a business.

The picture is simply a joke, and I'm poking fun at Capcom. I'm not blaming anyone the picture was purely satire, not meant to seriously skewer Capcom for their business techniques. You are looking into this picture a little too much.

I admit that the recent rage and shitstorms about Megaman did cause me to look more critical on making fun of it.
Yet I do realize your pic was meant to be just a joke, or satire, hence I'm not throwing shit around not call you names, merely noting on the situation, a fun fact or trivia, you could say ;3

Oh, and by the way, I work at a video game store (with both new and used games), so I do have some insight on what people buy, and what they prefer to download (yeah, there are people cheeky enough to be proud they download games instead of buying them... and visit the store only to browse what to download later...).

That's good, I worked at a day camp where the boys preferred Megaman over Street Fighter. I guess I have some insight on the future of the MM franchise.

Never said Megaman isn't more popular than SF (MM actually has more games than SF), merely said that SF sales better, and when one wants to get money for their work, they'll go for the series that give them the money.

Well that's economics, it's more about what sells than what the fans want, which explains their cancellation of two Megaman projects (and I'm not salty about that) and released three remakes of three Street Fighter titles and Street Fighter x Tekken. And while I'm not a fan of the new Street Fighter titles (because I feel they deviates from the Street Fighter II vision) they DO sell better than Megaman, Dead Rising, and other Capcom titles. Which also explains Capcom's lack of enthusiasm for reviving old franchises (such as Strider and Final Fight) because they probably will not sell as much as Street Fighter. If puts food on their table, Capcom will do it. It's simple business practices.

Well, either you do what brings food on your table, OR you die off like many other companies did. Though you can still hope to get buyed by another company (Sega Sammy, Bandai Namco, SquareEnix (though the last one was a fusion of two dying companies), etc.), but I'd say it's better to rely on yourself rather than others.

And cancelling MMU & MM3 has more resons than just the horrible MM sales, the tsunami/earthquake catastrophe did hit Capcom just as much as other companies (despite most fans believing that video game companies miraculously avoiding the damage...), Inafune leaving the games halfway done, etc. all had it's role in the cancellation of these games.

And as for the classics revival, actually, it's a very common method nowdays. The idea is really simple, all the kids who had to ask their parents to buy them games, are all grown up now, and can afford their own games, so they'll be all to eager to buy either classic-collections or classic remakes (MM Anniverssary Collection and X Collection were sadly released a bit too early, when such collections weren't all that popular...). Believe it or not, I get people getting a fangasm when they hear that MGS HD Collection features the old Metal Gear 1 & 2 |D
Though still, note that whenever Capcom makes a crossover game (MVC, CVS, NXC, SFxT), they always put some classic and obscure characters along with some more popular ones (or even choose a more obscure company, like Tatsunoko), so it wasn't all that surprising to see some older charas in MVC3 as well (hell, I remember people actually complaining about Strider when Capcom announced him for MVC1 |D).
